Dublin’s been on our bucket list for years so we were pretty excited when we opened this present Christmas morning!

Grab your passport! When you visit Dublin, be sure to include as many wanderlust adventures as possible. Making memories and having fun together is the ultimate experience of family travel.

Hop on a train and enjoy the day in any of these day trip destinations from Dublin.

Often a day trip is just the way to break up a trip to a big city.

Museums

There are so many great museums to enjoy when you visit Dublin. It may be hard to choose. These are just of few of the top picks.

My 5 Days in Dublin with Kids post has quite a few more ideas the whole family will enjoy.

Don’t miss a bucket list experience when you visit Dublin. Plan a food and cultural activity for your visit to Dublin for a taste of local culture.

Transportation

We found Dublin’s City Pass, the Hop-on Hop-off pass, and the Leap Card to be the best city transportation options. Each has its benefits. So, do your research and see which helps you accomplish your Dublin bucket list dreams at the best price.

MORE Activities and Excursions

This is the fun bit, right? It’s why we work so hard planning the logistics.  So how about some great deals on memory-making activities and excursions when you visit Dublin?

Perhaps Dublin is a gateway city for you and you want to see the whole of Ireland. An Ireland multi-city tour may be just the thing to make a trip full of memories that will last a lifetime.

Affordable Flights & Rental Cars

You can find rental cars for as low as about $11 a day in Dublin. This is a good option if you want to take more relaxed day trips out of the city. However, if you are staying in Dublin for most of your trip, I would recommend using the city transportation system. Kids are often free or discounted.

If you’re still looking for cheap flights, check the discount sites. Skyscanner is my fave. Grab their app and get ready to find the best price!

Lodging

House sitting has become my favorite way to afford to lodge. Check it out and find what best fits your family’s needs. You could save thousands of dollars on your next vacation!

Family-friendly hostels and apartment/flat rental are great options for those traveling with kids. Having a place to unwind, enjoy a hot meal while a tired kiddo relaxes can turn a good travel day into a GREAT travel memory.
