Wonder-Filled Science: Mighty Feathers

Our family has been using CrossWired Science to liven things up for the time we spend studying biology. We have previously completed the Fluid Dynamics Study & the Sound units. (Here’s my review.) So we were eager to try their latest FREE SciGoodie, Mighty Feathers.

Grab your FREE SciGoodie & Lesson Plan at the end of this post.

Digital Science for All Ages

There is so much in this online curriculum … homeschool families all over the world can access these digital resources to use with their families. The team at CrossWired Science has creatively (a touch of genius, really) put together digital resources that will appeal to all ages and learning levels.

I found that, honestly, we were almost overwhelmed with so many activities to choose from.  I took a brief step back (the kids were ravenous for the next video and activities) & put together a simple guide for us to follow.  (Grab it at the end of this post.)

I really wanted to make sure they were getting every tasty morsel of science offered in Crosswired Science’s latest free SciGoodie. You can read more about the other science units they currently offer here. (I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!)

I wanted to share the Mighty Feathers’ 6-weeks of FREE science lesson plan with you so you can:

  • Help guide your kids through the unit,
  • Satisfy their hunger for quality, digital, science resources,
  • Make sure they are doing something hands-on to apply all that learning in STEM style experiments and project,
  • Keep track of lessons and projects for your high school student’s courses so they can get maximum credit for their work.
  • Ensure that your kids are grasping the wonder of God’s science in creation.

Explore 20+ hours of completely free science resources showing the glory of God in birds, feathers, and flight in an in-depth digital course.

The Mighty Feather SciGoodie Includes:

  • 6 CrossWired Science original mini-videos with built-in quizzes.
  • 12 incredible experiments and activities for all ages (Kindergarten through AP Biology).
  • 50 additional video links on birds, feathers and flight.
  • 6 devotions showing the love, power, beauty & intelligence of God through what He made in birds, their feathers, and flight.
  • And much more!

That’s 20+ hours of amazing science FREE!

CrossWired Science’s mission is to

”profoundly showing the glory of God through what He has made”.

So get ready to feed the minds of your family with the wonder of what God did in giving us His amazing gift of birds!

Several devotionals for older kids are included, but for younger kids, consider using the  “Indescribable: 100 devotions for kids about God & Science”. (amazon referral)

  1. I’m not seeing where I can get 6 weeks of science. When I follow your link to their webpage, I’m finding a free 3 day sample. Also I cannot find your lesson plan checklist- the link just keeps taking me to a subscribing sign up page- where do I go to put in the password that is sent in the link. Thanks!

    • When you subscribe to the Resource Library, I send you the access code for ALL of Captivating Compass’s Free Resources. The third in that list will be the Mighty Feathers Science Lesson Plan. Download the lesson plan. In the Science Lesson Plan is the link to the Mighty Feathers Resource page. Just sign up & I’ll send you the link. Sorry for the confusion.
