Studying Ancient Rome – Family Travel Resources for Italy

It’s always fun to learn a little (or a lot) about where you’re going on a family travel adventure. Whether you are getting ready to head to Rome or you are staying put for a while and bingeing on virtual tours of Italy, Studying ancient Rome will prepare your family to get the most out of your Roman Holiday. Choose a few ideas from each category and implement them throughout your family adventure in Italy.

Know Before You Go!

Having a good working knowledge about the basics of history and culture makes learning so much more enjoyable when you arrive at your destination. For Italy, understanding even a little bit about Roman society, and the vast (and complicated) empire, are great foundations on which to layer art, literature, geography, and science. Keep it simple or go deep. Let your passion for learning about the world around you guide you.
