These are the skills that our kids learn from their families and when they partner with like-minded home educators.

The Struggle Is Real, People!

Before homeschooling was legal in North America, many homeschoolers kept to themselves, afraid to create the community they so desperately longed for. It’s hard to imagine there was a time when we couldn’t hop on Facebook or Insta to say, “Hey! I homeschool, too!”  We truly stand on the shoulders of those homeschool pioneers. 

Let me just say that this fear is still going on in the rest of the world for homeschoolers. The need for community is so great! It is not uncommon for families throughout the UK & Europe where it is legal to homeschool to do any (or all) for the following:

  • Stay indoors during traditional school hours to avoid the odd look or questions from strangers.
  • Schedule appointments for after-school hours to avoid questions from a medical professional that might lead to some type of home visit to check on the welfare of the children.

Find your tribe & Create Your Best Homeschool Journey

While an online homeschool tribe is good, meeting in person is even better. You can accommodate the requirement of your state laws by combining the two together. Many homeschool moms (they like to be called home educators) will organize their homeschool day to meet up with others for field trips, to enjoy a fabulous book together, or even end the school-year activities to celebrate the beginning of the summer holidays
